Galliford Try’s Crewe plans back in front of planners

Galliford Try’s revised plans to build a 40-home development in Crewe look set to be backed.The scheme is earmarked for land off Sydney Road and would comprise four one-bed apartments, 17 two-bed houses and 19 three-bed properties.All would be transferred to a registered provider for future management.The proposed split in tenure is that 26 would be brought forward as affordable rent, with 14 to be sold as shared ownership units.The application is a revision of one which was refused approval in December 2017. In particular, the layout has been revised to now incorporate an area of designated public open space, while the housing mix has been expanded.In addition, Galliford Try has agreed payment of all financial contributions which are necessary to mitigate the adverse impacts of the development, secured through a S106 agreementApproval has been recommended.
